UPDATES: A North Devon plumber has received suspended jail sentences, fines and compensation orders after trading standards uncovered fraudulent invoicing, excessive charges and unsafe work carried out while he was still on licence for earlier offences.
A plumber in North Devon who charged an elderly victim almost three times the standard rate for a bathroom refurbishment that experts described as ‘unsafe’ has been sentenced for fraud and consumer protection offences.
