UPDATES: Benugo has been fined after selling alcohol to a 15-year-old during a test purchase. The case highlighted failures in licence management as well as the importance of effective staff training and compliance procedures.
Restaurant chain Benugo has been fined £6,000 after an employee sold a bottle of beer to a 15-year-old at its Waterloo Station outlet during an undercover test-purchasing operation by Lambeth Council Trading Standards.
During a hearing at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court the company was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £860.
