Trading standards officers in Salford seized a record haul of illegal cigarettes

UPDATES: Salford Trading Standards has uncovered its largest-ever haul of illicit tobacco, with coordinated raids recovering counterfeit cigarettes, cash and illegal products from homes and businesses.
Salford City Council trading standards officers have seized more than 91,000 cigarettes in raids carried out with sniffer dogs over the past three weeks.
In one home, which was raided together with Greater Manchester Police, council officers found 67,950 counterfeit cigarettes and more than 150 50g pouches of rolling tobacco. The haul, which has an estimated street value of £40,000, ...
