UPDATES: An illegal shisha tobacco seller has been fined after enforcement action exposed breaches of trading laws. The case reinforces the importance of tackling the illicit tobacco market and protecting public health.
A shopkeeper prosecuted by Oxfordshire County Council Trading Standards has pleaded guilty to supplying illegal shisha tobacco.
On 29 July Oxford Magistrates’ Court heard how Trading Standards officers visited Zaid Supermarket on Cowley Road in Oxford in March 2020 and seized more than 20,000 grams of illegal tobacco from under the counter.
