UPDATES: Norman Watson’s career traced the changing shape of Trading Standards, from post-war weights and measures work to early Trade Descriptions Act prosecutions. This obituary remembers a forensic legal mind, generous teacher and private family man whose professionalism left a lasting mark on colleagues in Leeds and West Yorkshire.
Norman Frederick Watson had a brilliant mind and was a gentleman in every sense of the word. His manner and demeanour epitomised professionalism and he set high standards for others to follow. He was always known to colleagues as 'Mr Watson' .
