UPDATES: York Trading Standards has intensified action against illegal disposable vapes, seizing thousands of pounds' worth of products while warning retailers that unlawful sales will result in enforcement action.
City of York Trading Standards has seized around £13,000 worth of illegal vapes from three businesses in the city as part of Operation Hunter, an initiative to clamp down on oversized and non-compliant e-cigarettes.
Officers found 1,096 illegal devices during the two-day campaign, most of which had nicotine liquid tank sizes in excess of the legal 2ml maximum.
