UPDATES: Following a year-long investigation and seven raids, Bolton Trading Standards secured a rare Closure Order against a shop repeatedly selling illicit tobacco. Hidden compartments, counterfeit goods and sustained enforcement underline the scale of the operation and the message to offenders.
Following a lengthy investigation, Bolton Council Trading Standards has secured a Closure Order against a local shop which repeatedly sold illegal tobacco and cigarettes.
At Bolton Magistrates Court on 14 June the three-month Closure Order was granted against Sarbast Hussein, owner of Ranya Market in Farnworth, under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.
