UPDATES: A five-year Trading Standards investigation ended with prison sentences for rogue traders who defrauded vulnerable homeowners of substantial sums through unfinished home improvement work, exposing how customer deposits were diverted to fund a lavish lifestyle.
A five-year-long investigation by Staffordshire Trading Standards has resulted in guilty verdicts for two rogue traders – one of them a former police officer – who ripped off vulnerable homeowners.
Richard Stubbs (55) and Carl Egerton (54) were found guilty at the end of a six-week trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
