UPDATES: The Tobacco and Vapes Bill would phase out tobacco sales by raising the legal age of purchase each year, introduce tighter controls on vaping products and give enforcement teams new powers to tackle underage sales.
Under the Government’s newly launched Tobacco and Vapes Bill, tobacco sales will be phased out as the legal age of purchase rises each year, meaning that anyone born on or after 1 January 2009 will never legally be able to buy cigarettes or tobacco in the UK.
