UPDATES: Lancashire test-purchase operations have exposed widespread illegal knife sales to under-18s, with young volunteers able to buy bladed items from more than a third of shops visited during Operation Sceptre.
A series of undercover test purchases by Lancashire Trading Standards have revealed a disturbing lack of compliance among shops that sell knives, with more than a third of the retailers visited illegally selling age-restricted products to teenagers.
