UPDATES: A tribute to Timothy Alec Burton reflects on a distinguished career and the personal qualities that earned him the respect and affection of colleagues across the Trading Standards profession.
Timothy Alec Burton was born in the North Yorkshire town of Harrogate on 12 September 1950. His father was a fireman, which gave young Tim something of a celebrity status among his school friends – and it was probably from his father that Tim got his fastidious nature.
