UPDATES: Fraudsters are exploiting the pandemic with fake lockdown rebate text messages designed to steal banking details. Learn how the scam works and the warning signs consumers should watch for.
Members of the public have received a text informing them that "we have been instructed by the goverment [sic] to issue a tax refund off [sic] £230 due to the recent lockdown."
