UPDATES: An investigation by Ealing Council Trading Standards resulted in a jeweller being prosecuted for hallmarking offences, underlining the importance of compliance and the protection that hallmarking provides for consumers.
An Ealing Council Trading Standards investigation has led to a jeweller in Southall being ordered to pay more than £7,500 in fines and court costs after admitting to offering gold for sale without an official hallmark.
